Dromore Beekeepers’ Association

Newsletter  February 2018

RECENT EVENTS.

December.

There was no indoor meeting in December but on the last Saturday of the month 15-20 members turned up at the apiary to see the Api- Bioxal trickle treatment on the Association hives. Weather conditions were just about perfect, and Liam Murtagh and Robert McCreery were on hand to show those present how to treat their colonies, while David Gamble had stocks of the chemical for distribution. Following the demonstration everyone enjoyed mince pies and mulled wine, before returning home to treat their own colonies.

January  meeting.

The January meeting was unfortunately the victim of the weather as snow caused the School to be closed earlier that afternoon, resulting in the cancellation of our meeting at the last minute. Vanessa Drew had very kindly agreed to step in at very short notice but her talk “Beekeeing in New Zealand” will be given at a later date.
